If you are building a word from individual letters, calculate the total approximate width before ordering. Character widths vary, and you also need consistent spaces between letters. A paper mockup is an easy way to judge whether the message feels balanced on the panel.
Match the style to the vehicle rather than choosing only from a close-up product photo. Bold block letters can suit trucks and performance themes, while slimmer or more polished styles may fit luxury or minimalist designs. Also consider whether the chrome finish will contrast enough with the paint color to remain visible at normal viewing distance.
