Bed Stripe Kits: Sizing, Placement and Installation Guide
A bed stripe looks best when its size and position are planned against the truck body lines before installation.
Pickup bed sides vary widely in length, height, wheel-opening shape, trim, badges, fuel doors, and body contours. Before choosing a stripe kit, measure the flat visual area where the design will sit rather than the entire bedside. Consider how the stripe will relate to the wheel opening and to the top and bottom body lines.
A shorter stripe can create a compact accent near the rear of the bed, while a longer stripe produces a more dominant visual statement. Use removable tape to mark the proposed top, bottom, front, and rear boundaries so you can stand back and judge the proportion.
Preparation matters because bed sides collect wax, dust, fuel residue, road film, and detailing products. Clean the area thoroughly and allow it to dry. During installation, work from a controlled reference line so both sides of the truck can be positioned consistently.
If the kit includes custom design options, keep the main design readable and avoid placing important details where the bedside curves sharply. Measure and mark both sides before applying either side so the pair stays visually matched.
